Welcome to Virtual Nature School's training for Scottish practitioners that also provides support for your families that are at home.
Overview of the training
The diagram below provides an overview of the training from both the practitioner and family perspective. A downloadable version is available here.
How to access the daily provocation video
The daily provocation video is available on our YouTube channel every morning at 10am, live from Auchlone Nature Kindergarten, Perthshire.
You can choose to watch it live, or watch the recording afterwards at your convenience.
To access our brand new YouTube channel, just search for the Virtual Nature School channel on YouTube, or click on this link.
You may want to be an active participant on the screen via Zoom, and we welcome that. Just email us on firstname.lastname@example.org
How to access the LMS (Learning Management System)
The Living Classrooms LMS is where each practitioner can access additional training resources as well as upload their reflections. You will receive an email with the login details, and if you have not received it by Monday 27 July, then please email us for help (check your junk folder!)
How to join the Facebook group
As a practitioner, you will have access to the practitioner-only group, which you can access by clicking here.
We also encourage you to join your regional group so you can connect with practitioners and families near you. A list of regional groups can be found by clicking here.
How to invite families
We want as many of your families to take advantage of this free yet high quality resource, so we've made it really simple to invite them:
1. Tell them to find our YouTube channel and watch the daily provocation video
2. Ask them to join the VNS group for your area, where they can post their photos and see what other families are doing which fosters a sense of community and belonging. Simply copy and paste the link for your area
3. When you are ready, you can email us to request one of our secure & private Zoom rooms, where you can host a feedback session for your families. An example of this and instructions will be available on the LMS.
4. As an alternative to 2 & 3, you may decide to interact with your families on your own internal communication channels, which is fine as well!
Hopefully the above information is enough to get you started with Virtual Nature School. If you have any questions, please email us anytime or ask in the Facebook group and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.
